Admission Policy

The Office of Catholic Education recommends that a child be six (6) years old by August 1 to enter grade one. This means that a child must be five (5) years old by August 1 to enter kindergarten, and four (4) years old to enter Pre-Kindergarten program. Registration is conducted in the early spring for St. Michael School for all grades. If the number of registrations exceeds the maximum enrollment for a particular grade level the principal and the School Commission will make the final decision for accepting additional students to St. Michael School. The final decision as to whether or not a student’s name will be included on the roster will be 2 based on the following:

  1.  whether the student’s family is registered in St. Michael Parish and have shown support of the parish through regular tithing of time, talent and treasure;
  2.  whether the student’s family (new to St. Michael Parish) has shown support of their former parish through regular tithing of time, talent, and treasure. St. Michael School cannot assure non-parish school families pre-enrollment of family members. Family members will be given consideration only after all parish families have been placed.

The school conducts registration in the early spring. School families are given the first opportunity to register for the next school year. Then the parish community is notified of open registration. Registration is completed by submitting a Registration Packet (Available at the School) for each student along with the family registration fee.  This is a non-refundable fee. All other fees are due by May 31st. Your registration fee will be deducted from tuition. Registrations are dated when received. Classes are filled in this order (depending on date received):

  1.  Returning students
  2.  Current school families with new students
  3.  Parish families with new students
  4.  Non-parish families with new students
